Selah: A Pause That Builds the Kingdom

Today, I want to leave you with a word:

Selah.

In Scripture, Selah is a pause.
A moment to stop, reflect, and let truth settle—not just in the mind, but in the body.

Sabbath and Selah speak to us not only biblically, but physically.

God made rest for us.

Scripture tells us that God does not sleep or slumber—He is not a man that He should lie. So when He rested after creation, He wasn’t tired… He was modeling something.

He was showing us how the Kingdom is built.

Even Jesus withdrew.
He stepped away from crowds.
He rested in the presence of the Lord.

Have you ever thought about that?

If the Son of God paused, prayed, and rested—how much more do we need to?

Today, I invite you to step back and meditate on Sabbath.

  • Look up the word.
  • Study its meaning.
  • Explore its root.
  • Ask the Lord what rest looks like for you in this season.

This is not laziness.
This is obedience.

Be still.
Let your soul catch up with your faith.
And receive the rest God already prepared for you.

Be blessed,
Angelica
